HISTORY...
Established in 1981 as a multi-disciplinary consulting practice, by the late 1980s ENERSOL had become an integral part of and contributor to the world latex industry.
Dr John Gerofi is ENERSOL’s founder and managing director. Dr Gerofi became involved in the contraceptive field in the early 1970s, when student research led to the publication of a book on contraceptive methods. This in turn led to a place on Australia’s inaugural Condom Standards Committee in 1973, and shortly afterwards Dr Gerofi was selected as the National Representative on the International Standards Organization’s Condom Standards Committee, a position he still holds.
Dr Gerofi is well known and respected with condom and glove regulatory authorities and manufacturers globally.
Dr Gerofi is the Australian representative on ISO committees, a member of WHO advisory committees and author of a number of publications on condom testing and quality control. Qualifications include a Bachelor of Science, BE (Hons 1) in Electrical Engineering and a PhD in Electrical Engineering. Dr Gerofi has worked for a wide range of international aid agencies including UNIDO, UNFPA, ISO, PATH and WHO and he has worked in over 20 countries.
OPERATIONS...
Today ENERSOL operates medical device testing laboratories in Australia and Malaysia. The head office is located in a leafy inner-city suburb of Sydney and a second laboratory in beautiful Pulau Pinang.
All equipment and software used by the laboratories is designed and developed in-house. ENERSOL testing equipment and software are used by national regulatory authorities and condom manufacturers globally. Major aid agencies employ ENERSOL for quality testing. With wide experience in the latex and medical device field, ENERSOL has adapted testing knowledge and techniques to a wider range of products of similar materials.
ENERSOL has been a world leader in the field for over 20 years.
Research and Development is a major contributor to maintaining the highest quality in equipment and data acquisition software. The Sydney and Penang laboratories are equipped to test condoms, gloves, syringes and other medical devices.
